This album is a collection of demos I wrote and recorded over the course of one cold, sordid September week. I plan to record them properly, with full backing, for my first fully-fledged solo album within the next year or so. But these demos are endearing to me in their own way, with their little idiosyncrasies and mistakes, and so I decided to give them the light of day while I work on the full versions in the background. I don't intend to make any money off releasing them, but rather show them off as the groundwork for something better, hence the album title.

Recorded on a Samsung Galaxy microphone on the nights of September 7-13, 2023, at Appleseed, Canberra, Australia.
