The Moonlight Express was originally conceptualised as an album about a band that plays on a train in space. The concept sort of fell through as most of the tracks ended up as instrumentals, although the core idea of using a less maximalist production approach was a success. The album was also inspired by the 1981 ELO album Time.
This is an EP, and was used both as a production test and a way to sharpen our songwriting skills.
